Knoxville Children’s Theatre, in partnership with Clayton Foundation, will present 14 live performances of “Tom Sawyer,” a new adaptation for children and families of the classic book by Mark Twain. This new version contains all the laughter and thrills of the novel, and has been specially crafted for children and teens.
All of the classic moments of Mark Twain’s hilarious and thrilling book come to life in KCT’s newest production: whitewashing Aunt Polly’s fence, Tom’s courtship of Becky Thatcher, his friendship with Huckleberry Finn, and Tom and Becky’s adventure in MacDougal’s Cave.
This classic American story has entertained families for generations.

The play is performed by 19 talented young actors, from ages 10 to 15. Eason Bullard will play the title role, and Maddy Grace Payne will perform as Becky Thatcher. Braxxton Sommers will take on the role of Huckleberry Finn, and Ella Trisler will play Aunt Polly.
Four actors are making their KCT debuts: Cooper Delamain, Alexandra Summie, Elliott Vasconcelos, and Keeley Wade.
The rest of the cast includes KCT veterans: Logan Bell, Abby Cowan, Nico Ellerbusch, Corbin Fram, Annika Kallstrom, Tripp Keeton, Eric Magee, Alex Montgomery, Chase Russell, Aedan Smith, and Grant Trivette.
Zack Allen, KCT’s Producing Director, will direct the production. Central High student Jacob Sousley will head scenery duties. L&N STEM student Derrick Washington, Jr. will design lighting, and West High student Brycen Ritchie will design costumes. Averi Waller will be the play’s stage manager. KCT is East Tennessee’s leading producer of plays for children.
