Knoxville Children’s Theatre will present The Best Christmas Pageant Ever., Barbara Robinson’s hilarious adaptation of her best-selling novel. The play will be performed December 5 through 21, Thursdays and Fridays at 7 PM; Saturdays at 1 PM and 5 PM; Sundays at 3 PM. KCT’s 63rd full-scale production features 22 young actors in the cast.

KCT is continuing our Special Rate for this show: Any adult and child who enter together can enter for $10 each, and any remaining person will be $12. All payments are made upon arrival at KCT on the date of your chosen performance.

Having sold 800,000 copies worldwide, The Best Christmas Pageant Ever tells the story of the Herdman family, who go to church for the first time after being told snacks are served afterwards. Despite protests from other church members, they are given roles in the annual Sunday School Christmas play, in which they retell the traditional Christmas story in a way only the Herdmans could do it.

The play is performed by 22 talented young actors, from ages 8 to 16. Five actors are making their KCT debuts: Ava Bradshaw, Lauren Klappholz, Kathryn Payne, Abby Ann Ramsey, and Ella Williams,

The rest of the cast includes KCT veteran performers Eason Bullard, Layla Cameron, Luke Carter, Ruthanne Carter, Cody Chaffins, Emily Cyrus, Kena Holmes, L. J. McDaniel, Kayla June Nobbe, Eva Rogers, Boone Sommers, Julia Stark, Grant Trivette, Greyson Vanwinkle, Levi Vinsant, Derrick Washington, Jr., and Zoe White.

The Best Christmas Pageant Ever is recommended for ages 6 and up. The minimum age to enter the theatre is 3.

The play is directed by UT student Ashlee Latimer. Rose Bolton will design and build the costumes. The play’s stage manager is West High freshman Clare Carter.
