KCT reboots the classic story amidst the color and pageantry of France.  The happy life of Briar-Rose is interrupted by a curse from one of the Seven Wise Sisters of Fountainbleau, sending the girl into a deep sleep.  Can an ancient wizard and a young soldier come to her rescue with some magic of their own?

The play is performed by 14 talented young actors, from ages 8 to 14.  Campbell Ayres plays the role of Briar-Rose, and Chase Russell plays the young soldier Martine.  The rest of the cast includes Betsy Blumberg, Hallie Boring, Cody Chaffins, Ellie Copeland, Audrey Jones, Maria Kauffman, Sadie Kemp, Eric Magee, Delana Pritchard, Nikki Roberts, Lauren Rymer, and Aedan Smith.

Caroline Dyer, a senior at South-Doyle High, directs the production. High-school students Charlotte Stark, Jaden Lily Branson, and Ansley Hughes will be the stage manager and costume designers.  KCT is East Tennessee’s leading producer of plays for children and families.

The show is presented in partnership with The Ritchie Company and is sponsored by The Comcast Foundation, Clayton Family Foundation, Home Federal Bank, the City of Knoxville, and Lusidmedia.  Assistance was also provided by Bandit Lites and Prestige Cleaners.
