Advanced Acting 302, ages 14 -18, $180
Thursday on 4/15, 4/22, 4/29, 5/6, 5/13, 5/19
4:30 PM to 6:00 PM
This class is for students with stage experience who already have a grasp of the fundamentals of realistic acting technique. The course is based on Uta Hagen’s “Respect for Acting” and focuses on what Hagen calls particularization as it relates to 3 of her central ideas: Endowment, Immediacy, and Physical Destination. Actors will be challenged to create work that is consistently fresh and new (Immediacy), combined with realistic and convincing interaction with props and other stage objects (Endowment) and a truthful motivation for movement (Physical Destination).
