Dennis E. PerkinsThe Dennis E. Perkins Scholarship Fund was established in honor of Dennis’ legacy at KCT. Dennis is committed to preparing young artists not just for their success at Knoxville Children’s Theatre, but in their artistic pursuits outside our doors. KCT’s Board of Directors launched this scholarship fund to honor the precedent he set for KCT and to allow students to pursue careers in the arts.

Qualifications


  • All applicants must have a declared major or minor in theatre (or other degree related to theatrical arts).
  • All applicants must have previously participated in at least one production at Knoxville Children’s Theatre. This includes one or more of the following: cast, stage management, or technical design.
  • Students in any year of higher education are eligible to apply, but no student will be awarded the scholarship more than once.
  • If no applicants meet the qualifications, the scholarship will roll over into the next year.

  1. Describe what Knoxville Children’s Theatre means to you
  2. How has Knoxville Children’s Theatre helped you grow personally?
  3. What makes you passionate about theatre and why have you chosen to pursue it?

A copy of applicant’s theatrical resume

At least two letters of recommendation from teachers, directors, or mentors who have worked closely with the applicant in the field of theatre or other arts related pursuits. (Two letters of recommendation are required to be considered, but applicant may submit more than two if they wish.)
